Sunday Morning

Sunday Morning

For millennia God’s people have gathered together to proclaim the Good News of our salvation in Christ, to be renewed by God’s grace, and to praise him for our creation, redemption, and hope for eternity – and New Song gets to be a part of it all right here in Port Perry. Whether we’re feeling on top of the world of crushed by its weight, we encounter the transforming grace of God where he promises to deliver it to us: in his Word and at his Table.

What is Worship like at New Song?

We gather to be centred in the Gospel: The Good News that God loves the world and offers us salvation through his crucified and risen Son, Jesus Christ. It’s the Good News of God’s Word that shapes our worship: by Gathering as God’s People, then Hearing God’s Word, Responding to God’s Word, and Feasting at God’s Table before being Sent Out to Love & Serve in God’s World. We gather to glorify our gracious God and renew our mission: to proclaim the true and life-giving word of Jesus as we love and serve our neighbours.

Everyone is welcome to connect over coffee, tea and goodies after the service, and to join us for our church family potluck (generally) on the first Sunday of the month.

You can get a sense of what our worshipping life is like on our YouTube channel where we livestream our services every Sunday, and you can like us on Facebook for even more updates.

Is there a Children’s Ministry program?

Yes! And you can learn more about New Song Kids here. Our Children’s ministry program is purposed with equipping our youngest brothers and sisters in Christ for lifelong discipleship. It runs in the Lower Hall through the school year and includes Gospel-Centred and age appropriate lessons led by trained and Plan to Protect certified leaders, as well as activities, games and crafts.

Our nursery (with a live feed of the service) is always open (though not staffed) and available to parents and young ones. Activity trays are also available for kids of all ages to take into the service with them.

What should I wear on Sunday?

Every Sunday is a family gathering. And like any family gathering, there are probably all sorts of different ideas of what to wear: some wear shorts all year round, some will wear a suit and tie even in the middle of summer. Come however you’re most comfortable; we’re really just glad to have you join in with the family. Please bear in mind that our sanctuary can get a little toasty in the summer months.

Where can I learn more about New Song’s style of worship?

New Song is a member of a world-wide family of churches that draw deeply from The Book of Common Prayer (BCP), the greatest treasure handed down to us from the English Reformation in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The BCP has rightly been called “the Bible arranged for worship”. Today, the BCP (in a contemporized form) gives shape to New Song’s worshipping life and Sunday morning services. For those who have questions or might be new to our kind of participatory style of worship, Pastor Creighton would be delighted to share more: send him an email.
